Cheddar Cheese Sauce

Easy Cheddar Cheese Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, grated, 2 cups
  • Butter, cup
  • Milk, 1 cup
  • Flour, 2 tablespoons
  • Ground black or white pepper, 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour, pepper and salt, and stir. Now add the milk and keep stirring till the mixture thickens and has a smooth consistency. Stir in the cheese add cook for five more minutes till the cheese blends well with the mixture. You can serve this sauce for broccoli, pasta and other dishes.

Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Macaroni
Ingredients
  • Small elbow macaroni, 1 cups
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, 2 cups
  • Cornstarch, 2 tablespoons
  • Margarine or butter, 2 tablespoons
  • Evaporated milk, 1 can
  • Dry mustard, teaspoon
  • Water, 1 cup
  • Freshly ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions

Place a saucepan over medium heat and combine the cornstarch, mustard, pepper and salt. Now add the butter (or margarine), evaporated milk and water and stir thoroughly till the mixture begins to boil. Stir in 2 cups of cheddar cheese and continue stirring till the cheese melts. Take a separate saucepan and cook the macaroni according to the instructions on the package. Drain the water from the saucepan and keep the macaroni in a separate bowl. Grease a casserole dish and add the macaroni. Pour the cheese sauce and combine. Mix the remaining cheese and bake this dish in a preheated oven at 375 F for about 25 minutes till the cheese melts.

Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Nachos
Ingredients
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded, 2 cups
  • Monterey Jack cheese, shredded, 1 cup
  • Cream cheese. Cubed, cup
  • Butter, cup
  • Evaporated milk, cup
  • Paprika, 1 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch, 1 tablespoon
  • Hot sauce, tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions

Take a medium-sized heavy bottom saucepan and melt butter. Add the cornstarch and evaporated milk to the pan and combine the ingredients with the help of a beater to avoid lump formation. Add the cubed cream cheese and mix. Now stir in the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack and cook till the cheese has melted completely. Add the paprika, hot sauce and salt, and stir to combine all the ingredients. Team this cheese sauce with some mouth-watering nachos recipes.

Cheddar Cheese Sauce for Noodles
Ingredients
  • Cheddar cheese, grated, 2 cups
  • Noodles, 1 package
  • Butter or margarine, cup
  • Medium-sized onion, finely chopped, 1
  • Plain flour, cup
  • Bacon, chopped, 1 cup
  • Milk, cup
  • Nutmeg, teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions

Melt butter in a saucepan and saute the onions till they become translucent. Add the bacon and cook till it turns brown. In a separate saucepan, cook the noodles al dente, as per the instructions given on the package. Drain the water from the noodles and transfer it to a large bowl. Now going back to the bacon, add the milk and flour and stir till a smooth mixture is formed. Once the mixture begins to boil and starts to become thick, stir the salt and nutmeg. Now take a casserole and transfer the cooked noodles and cheese. Pour the sauce over the noodles and bake it in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 20 minutes till the cheese melts.
