Ingredients
- 4 skinless pomfret
- 6 dried Kashmiri chillies
- 2 chopped onions
- 2 teaspoon of tamarind pulp
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns
- 2 cloves of chopped garlic
- teaspoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar
- Rice flour for dusting
- Before starting the actual recipe, you need to soak the chillies in warm water for around 10 minutes. Drain the water and remove the seeds from chillies.
- Put the chillies, tamarind, cumin seeds, turmeric, peppercorns, garlic, onion, sugar and vinegar in a fine mixer (food processor) and blend until smooth. Add salt to taste.
- Spread this spice paste on both the sides of the pomfret fillet, dust with rice flour.
- These pomfret fillets can be cooked on a barbecue or a preheated grill for 1-2 minutes on both sides.
