Onion Ring Dipping Sauce


Onions are an integral part of every kitchen across the globe. Not only are there many onions health benefits but the pungent flavor of the onions can add a zesty taste to any recipe. Onions can be fried such as in onion rings and sometimes even eaten raw in salads. Onion rings are a popular fast food in the United States and are also eaten as a snack or in accompaniment with burgers, pizzas, etc.

Simple Dipping Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
  • cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons tomato sauce
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • cup red wine vinegar
  • teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 ounce onion, diced
  • Salt to taste
Preparation

In a small bowl beat the egg yolk and red wine vinegar together. Transfer the mixture to a blender and add the extra virgin olive oil to the mixture and blend the ingredients together till it becomes smooth. Remove the contents from the blender into a bowl and serve it with freshly prepared onion rings.

Dipping Sauce Recipe with Mayonnaise
Ingredients
  • cup mayonnaise
  • teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • Salt to taste
Preparation

In a medium-sized bowl, mix the mayonnaise, horseradish sauce and ketchup and blend them properly. Now add the pepper, paprika and salt, and combine them with the mixture. You can also refrigerate this sauce if you need a cool version. Serve this sauce with crisp and crunchy onion rings.

Zesty Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
  • cup low fat mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoons ketchup
  • teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • teaspoon sugar
Preparation

In a medium-sized bowl, mix all the ingredients together and combine them properly with the help of a blender. Transfer the contents to an airtight container and refrigerate this onion ring dipping sauce before serving. The inclusion of lemon juice gives the sauce a zesty flavor.

Blooming Onion with Dipping Sauce
Ingredients for Dipping Sauce
  • cup mayonnaise
  • teaspoon paprika
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cream style horseradish sauce
  • teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
Ingredients for Blooming Onion
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • teaspoon dried oregano
  • cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 egg
  • teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt to taste
Preparation

In a medium-sized bowl, beat the egg and milk together and keep aside. In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with black pepper, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, dried thyme, paprika and salt and combine them well. Peel the onion and cut it into equal sized rings. Separate the rings and dip them into the milk and egg mixture. Now coat the rings with the flour mixture. Again dip the flour coated onion into the egg mixture. In the meantime, heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan and transfer the coated onion rings to it. Fry the onion rings in the hot oil till they turn brown on all sides. Remove the onion rings on a plate covered with paper towels to let the excess oil drain. For the sauce, combine the mayonnaise, horseradish sauce, oregano, a pinch of freshly ground pepper, salt, ketchup, cayenne pepper and paprika in a medium-sized bowl. You can use a blender to mix these ingredients properly. Transfer this sauce into a separate bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. Garnish this sauce with a sprig of cilantro and serve it with freshly fried onion rings.
