How to Cook Organic Chicken


Organic chicken recipes are a delicacy and are enjoyed by everyone. Organic chicken is a healthy option since it is bred on natural foods, without chemicals and artificial hormones. An all-natural product, organic chicken can be cooked in various ways. Let us take a look at some of the recipes to cook organic chicken.

Baked Parmesan Garlic Organic Chicken

Ingredients Required
  • Organic chicken breasts, skinless and boneless, 6 to 8
  • Garlic cloves, minced, 5
  • Parmesan cheese, grated, 1 cup
  • Dry bread crumbs, cup
  • Olive oil, 5 tablespoons
  • Dried basil leaves, 1 teaspoon
  • Freshly ground black pepper, teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
Instructions for Cooking

Clean the chicken breasts and keep them in a bowl. Meanwhile, take another bowl and mix the bread crumbs with grated cheese, pepper, basil leaves, minced garlic and salt. Coat the chicken breasts with the oil and place them in the bowl containing the bread crumb mixture. After coating the chicken breasts, transfer them to a well greased baking tray and bake it in a preheated oven at 175 C for about 30 minutes. Enjoy this oven-baked chicken breast for lunch or dinner.

Pan Roasted Organic Chicken with Black Truffle Risotto

Ingredients Required
  • Organic chicken breasts, 6 to 8
  • Chicken legs and thigh meat, 6
  • Chicken stock, 5 cups
  • Risotto, 1 pound
  • Goat cheese, crumbled, 1 pound
  • Black truffles, chopped, 2 cups
  • Yellow onion, finely chopped, 2 cups
  • Button mushrooms, chopped, 1 cups
  • Leeks, white part only, diced, cup
  • Garlic, sliced, cup
  • Celery stalks, diced, 6
  • Medium-sized carrots, diced, 2 cups
  • Parmesan Reggiano, freshly grated, cup
  • Shallots, cubed, 1 cup
  • Port wine, 2 tablespoons
  • Hoisin sauce, cup
  • White wine, 2 cups
  • Fresh thyme, minced, 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh rosemary, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil, 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter, 1 stick
  • Freshly ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons
  • Kosher salt, 1 teaspoon
Instructions for Cooking

This is an exquisite dish which needs to be cooked separately and then presented as one. For this recipe, clean the chicken breasts and skin them. Crumble the goat cheese and along with the sliced truffles, stuff it in between the skin and the breast. In a skillet, heat two tablespoons of olive oil and sear the breasts. Now roast the chicken breasts in the oven for about 15 minutes to cook them thoroughly. Sear the chicken thigh meat and legs in the similar manner and roast them in the oven. Cook the chopped onions, celery, leeks and carrots in olive oil in the skillet till they become tender. Mix the vegetables along with the oven-baked chicken thighs and set it aside.

Now, heat a flat bottomed pan and saute the shallots and garlic, till the onion caramelizes. Add the mushrooms and cook till they become soft. Add the wine, chicken stock, hoisin sauce and simmer till it reduces to half. Add the butter, chopped thyme and rosemary to the pan, stirring it once before removing it from heat. To cook the risotto, heat olive oil in a saucepan and saute the yellow onions till they become translucent. Transfer the risotto and stir till the rice is completely coated. Now pour the white wine and stock, allowing it to simmer till the rice is thoroughly cooked. Blend the truffles, butter and Parmesan cheese, and mix it with the risotto. While serving this dish, place a serving of risotto on a plate and top it with chicken thigh and vegetables. On it place the chicken breast and garnish it with minced rosemary and chopped truffles.

Roasted Organic Chicken - Moroccan Style

Ingredients Required
  • Whole organic chicken, 1
  • Garlic cloves (for stuffing), unpeeled, 8 to 10
  • Small whole lemons, 2
  • Fresh mint, finely chopped, 1 tablespoons
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice, cup
  • Grated lemon peel, 2 teaspoons
  • Garlic cloves, peeled, 5
  • Olive oil, cup
  • Ras-el-hanout, 1 tablespoon
  • Hungarian sweet paprika, 2 tablespoons
  • Freshly ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons
  • Salt to taste

Discard the unwanted parts like excess fat, neck and giblets from the whole organic chicken and rinse it properly. Dry the chicken with the help of paper towels and keep it aside. Make a paste of the condiments and apply it all over the chicken, both on the inside as well as outside. Poke the whole lemons with a fork and place them in the chicken, along with the unpeeled garlic. Roast the chicken on the rack in a preheated oven at 400 F till the meat cooks. Remove the chicken from the oven and allow it to come back to room temperature, before savoring it.
